Seong Su Park received M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in materials science from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1986 and 1992 respectively. He had been in charge of developments of high-speed optical communication laser diodes and wireless communication chipsets for Bluetooth, WLAN, WCDMA mobile phone. Since 2012, he joined quantum communications and computing research areas. He was participated in making plans for quantum policies and R&D strategies considering intrim and external conditions Korea confronted. Now he is the director of Quantum Technology Research Center at ETRI established on June, 2019, with over 40 researchers. In 2021, he was a convener for publishing IEC white paper on quantum technology. And now he is also the convener of IEC SEG14 quantum technologies. Also, he is a member of Quantum Technology Special Committee of Presidential Advisory Council On Science & Technology, Korea.
