Ms. Tanabe is the former Executive Director of the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification. During her tenure, she oversaw the Board of Governors and fifteen standing committees comprised of over 100 volunteers. Ms. Tanabe began working at the ASCP BOC in 1990 and became the Executive Director in 2011. Ms. Tanabe also has 10 years’ experience working as a medical laboratory scientist in the clinical microbiology laboratory. Under Ms. Tanabe’s leadership, ASCP BOC achieved ANAB accreditation for certification of medical laboratory personnel. She has published/presented on laboratory workforce issues, certification, and licensure of medical laboratory personnel.
